Q: How do I get the change oil light to go off on my 2008 Jeep Patriot?
I just had my oil changed and the light is still coming on when I start the jeep and it stays on. Is there a way to reset it or something?
A: Turn the key to "ON", not start, press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 10 seconds. This will reset the oil change reminder. At least this is how my '08 Dodge Avenger works. Both are Chrysler products.
Q: Is the Jeep Patriot a manly car?
Is the Jeep patriot a maly vehicle?
A: No. It says "I couldn't afford a Grand Cherokee, so I settled for this"
Q: insurance cost for jeep patriot?
I am currently thinking of buying a 2008 jeep patriot. I am worried if the unsurance cost for it would be high?
A: Insurance cost depends on geographical area, average miles driven per year, usage of a car (personal or business,) driving record, age and even occupation of a driver and so on.
Nobody can tell you the cost of insurance without this information, and, of course, different insurance companies have different rates.
If I were you, I'd call several large insurance companies and ask for a free quote instead of relying on "information" you'll get here.
You might start with Mercury Insurance, they usually have good rates.
Q: Does anyone here have a 08 jeep patriot?
If so does the radio display the name f the artist when a song is on? If you have satellite.
A: Yes it does
Q: Is Jeep Patriot a fairly reliable vehicle for the moderate price ?
A: Patriots are mostly too new a model to have a reputation one way or the other on reliability. If you want extreme price/reliability factor, shop around for a cherokee classic 4.0 which has been well taken care of. 20-23mpg highway, true 4x4, motor will go 300k miles.
Q: What is the MPG on a Jeep Patriot?
I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find a listed MPG on City/Highway. Some help please.

Q: is jeep patriot a 5 seater or can an additional seat be added?
A: Yes it is designed to accomodate up to 5 people. If you want a Jeep which will carry up to 7 people then you want a Jeep Commander.
No there is no factory seat available to increase the seating capacity of the Patriot at this time.
Hope this answered your inquiry.
Q: what do you think of the Jeep patriot?
I was completly against the idea when i heard about them. but ive been looking to by a small SUV and i liked the cherokee but not the gas millage the patriot fixes that, ya i hate that its front wheel drive in that theres no transfer case but mobility wise front wheel drive works better, ya i wont be able to do donuts any more but its still a very capable 4wd suv give me some feed back speek you mind.
A: The Patriot has been out for about 2 years and it is already being redesigned because it is so un-jeep like and low sales. It is not a "Jeep" for off-roaders. Honestly its just a car with a Jeep like grill.
Just to get this out of my system. More non-Jeeps:
Compass......the Dodge Caliber
Liberty...........the Dodge Nitro
Just keep shop'n and stay away from Chrysler products for a while.
Q: Is the Jeep Patriot for girls or can guys drive them?
The car is kind of small and therefore I am curious of whether it is a unisex car.
A: Drive what you want. It's still a Jeep. You can buy one that isn't Pink if that makes you feel any better...
Q: which car would be better, the jeep liberty, or the jeep patriot?
no answers saying jeep sucks, unless you have a good cheap alternative
geeting a jeep for driving a family of four want room in back, and driving on very bumpy, illmantained streets
A: For a family, the Safety aspects are important. The more safety features that are standard the better. You mentioned the roads aren't that great. So you want good Suspension. Whatever vehicle you choose, you want to ask the Dealer to tune it before you Drive out.
Now coming back to your question, first off, if you want to choose, I guess I'd choose the one with smaller Engine for mileage. That would be the Patriot.
Secondly, my BFF Drives a Jeep Liberty. She hated it from Day one. But she can't wait to get rid of it. You are obviously aware of the Chrysler's reputation so I won't go in there. But I'll say this, if a company has to promise gas Guarantee, there's something wrong with their product.
Thirdly Choices. There sure are good alternatives that would fit your budget. There are SUVs and Cross Overs. Both have fair sized cargo spaces. You can see the pictures online to get an Idea. Here's my pick. Not in any particular order.
SUVs -
Chevy Equnox - Drove it like it. Its SUV size crossover.
Hyundai Tucson - Drove one. Love it.
Honda CRV - My wife's top favourite
Kia Sportage - Drove it. Not bad.
Subaru Forrester - Friend drove. He said its nice.
Suzuki Grand Vitara - Heard nice words. No 1st hand experience.
CrossOvers -
Pontiac Vibe - Toyota under GM hood. Have it. Love it.
Toyota Matrix. - Test Drive before making your mind.
Chevy HHR - Well liked car. Promos going on.
Dodge Caliber - Just throwing an option. Recommend to have all the safety options available if you like it. Remember its Chrysler.
Honda Element - Great Safe car.
Hyundai Santa fe - Love it all the time. Not sure if it fits your budget.
Saturn Vue - Good Reviews. Your call.
There you go. Hope you get a nice car you deserve. There some nice cash incentives going on for pretty much all of them. I just got the 09 vibe 3K bellow sticker. That's just to give you an idea. Do your homework you will get a great car for a nice price.
Good Luck.

Q: Jeep Patriot 4wd mpg changing?
Hello!
I was just wondering if the jeep patriot 4wd sport gets the same gas mileage as the fwd version when the 4wd is turned off?
It would partially make sense that it'd be worse because of the added weight.
I believe the 4wd is rated at 2mpg worse then the fwd version.
A: The engine works harder with 4wd vehicles because of the extra driveshaft and transfer case (that powers both shafts). In other words you answered your own question :)
Q: ANyone driving around in the new jeep patriot?
do you like it? pros/cons?
A: I love mine, bought it about 3 weeks ago. Here's why I love it...
1. 4 wd
2. 2.4L 4cylinder engine that gets 26 mpg on the highway
3. front wheel drive, so I will rarely have to use the 4wd, and it has traction control
4. good passenger room with reclining second row seats on every model, height adjustable driver's seat, fold flat passenger seat.
5. built in 115 amp plug in for laptops, etc.
6. lots of headroom and legroom
7. all that for only $22,000 sticker price
Cars.com also rated it one of the top 2 SUV's(Jeep Compass being the other one) for best value when combining base price of the vehicle with esatimated fuel costs for the life of the vehicle.
And 4wd Jeeps hold their value well over time.
Q: New Jeep Patriot randomly shut off on highway.?
My mom was driving my jeep on the highway and when she tried to engage the cruise control, the car shut off. The breaks wouldn't work, nor would the gas. The gas needle went all the way to empty even though it's full. The power steering went out too. Luckily we were able to pull over and then it just restarted as if nothing happened. Anyone know what this is or why it happened. It's a new car and scary to think about.
A: The new JK Wrangler had the same problem when it was released, the computers had to be reprogrammed.Take it back to the dealer and ask if there is a computer fix for this.
Q: Do Jeep Patriot's get good gas mileage?
If not, what are some small SUV's (jeep patriot size or smaller) with good gas mileage?
A: Patriots come in a diesel model, and those get good mileage. You pay more for diesel per gallon, but you'll save more overall. Plus a diesel engine that's well taken care of will last 3 times as long as an unleaded fuel engine.
Otherwise I'd go for something foreign like a Honda CRV or similar for good mileage. Hybrid/flex-fuel will do the best, but that technology is still new enough that I don't trust it to be long lasting yet.
